Composting on the Roof

The weather was nice so I went up to the roof today to get some work done in the garden. The compost, in various degrees of decomposition, needed to stirred and mixed with dirt. The process of turning garbage into nutrient rich soil never ceases to amaze!

I began getting the planter boxes ready for seeding. In just a few short weeks these bins of dirt will be teeming with life. First the hardy greens, mache, kale, mustard, and then later in the spring tomato seedlings, herbs and edible flowers!

Full of black dirt... For now they wait in the ready queue.
